Homewood Suites/Breakfast Merchandising Ordering System

The Issue

Homewood Suites by Hilton, an upscale, extended-stay hotel chain, had recently introduced new breakfast merchandising intended to provide brand standardization while allowing for some level of flexibility to match individual hotel decor/personality. To ensure compliance, Homewood Suites by Hilton wanted to develop an automated communication/order process which would make selecting from these newly available breakfast merchandising options easy for hotels. 

The Request

Homewood Suites by Hilton asked Mind Over Data to create a custom, online platform which would streamline the process of receiving, reviewing, tracking and managing the brand's breakfast displayware orders. 

The Solution

Mind Over Data designed, built, tested, reviewed and implemented the Homewood Suites by Hilton Breakfast Merchandising Ordering System. The database driven system was created using ColdFusion with the industry standard Fusebox framework, Microsoft SQL, HTML and JavaScript, and was developed so that it can easily be expanded upon in the future. The system employs an interactive questionnaire which walks users though ordering all required breakfast items, and any additional optional items a hotel wishes to purchase, and generates an order form based on the user's responses. Once an order is submitted, the order form is emailed to a central mailbox for order processing and to the user. Mind Over Data also provides monthly hosting and system maintenance for this custom developed site and its database backend.
